Traditional Irish Button Claddagh style ring
The Irish Claddagh is a symbol of love, loyalty and friendship. The tradition goes that it is given as a symbol of friendship. It's more commonly being used as wedding or engagement rings but traditionally Mother's would also give these rings to their daughters when they came of age.
This design is a special and unique take on the original Claddagh in that it adds tradition to the mix too and symbolises time and memories passed. It reminds us of our heritage, our families, our traditions and all who we love deeply.
The Claddagh is handed down mother-to-eldest daughter or grandmother-to-granddaughter.
There is some confusion over the tradition of how to wear a claddagh because this is a relatively new tradition only made up in more recent years. But this is how it goes.....
If worn on the left hand ( wedding ring finger ) worn facing in towards your heart ..... indicates you are married
If worn on the left hand ( wedding ring finger ) worn facing outwards ...indicates you are engaged.
If worn on right hand ( any finger ) worn facing outwards ... you are in search of your true love.
If worn on the right hand ( any finger ) worn facing in towards your heart.... indicates you have found your true love.
